£14.00 - £15.50 per hour (actual salary £11,648 - £12,896 per annum / £27,300 - £30,225 pro rata)

Match Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their client based in Corby. They’re a long established and successful small business (less than 20 office based) with almost 30 years history. This is a standalone accounts role. However, you will work with and amongst the whole office team. You will not be in a room all on your own!

You will be responsible for managing the accounting functions of the business, such as invoicing, payments, bank reconciliations, client account reconciliations, and month-end reconciliations. You will also assist with preparing financial reports and statements and may be involved in payroll processing in the future. Additionally, they will have to collaborate with our external accountants on a quarterly basis.

Systems used in role:

  • Xero (for accounting purposes)
  • Microsoft Office Package
  • Their CRM system and other internal management systems

What you’ll be doing on a day to day basis:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of the financial transactions and activities of the business.
  • Ensure the Company’s compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Support the director and external accountants with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Contribute to and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function and the overall business operations.
  • Supporting with processing payments on CRM software (that directly integrates with Xero) during busy periods.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and client accounts on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax filings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions and documents.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding any queries or issues.
  • Support the directors with any other accounting or administrative tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with external accountants on quarterly reviews.
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.

o Review and verify daily reconciliations prepared by management (incl. Client Account) and ensure that all transactions are promptly and correctly recorded and categorised.

o Identify and report any discrepancies or errors in the reconciliations and follow up with the relevant parties to resolve them as soon as possible.

o Prepare monthly reconciliation reports for all bank accounts and credit cards and submit them to a director for approval.

o Ensure all transactions are categorised to the correct nominal codes and balancing the Suspense account.

o Complete any manual journals as required by the business.
