Part-Time Accounts & Office Administrator

A well-established family run company are looking for a motivated, hardworking and highly organised Accounts and Office Administrator to join its small office team based in Milton. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours a week (office based). The role can be flexibly worked around your schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

You will be assisting with the day-to-day operations of all accounting functions for the business. You will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, along with competency across online accounting software (Sage) and MS Office (Excel, Outlook and Word). Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative, as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Duties

As the Accounts and Office Administrator, your key duties will be to:

  • Process supplier invoices
  • Process sales invoices (including keeping track of invoice valuation dates throughout the month)
  • Enter bank transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Check for/record payments from customers
  • Complete monthly VAT returns
  • Monthly CIS returns & payments
  • Monthly PAYE payments
  • Record-keeping/data entry into financial and personnel records
  • Chase overdue payments with debtors
  • Keeping track of retention on projects & invoicing when due
  • Assist with payroll when required
  • Admin support to management/other members of office staff
  • Answering the telephone
  • Assisting with management of the organisations general inbox
  • General filing

Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an accounts administration/assistant background
  • Educated to A- Level standard or equivalent
  • An accounts qualification, such as AAT Level 3 (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Proficient in the use of Sage 50 Accounts software
  • Competent user in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Confident working with numbers and good attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload

Employment Package

  • 24 hours a week (office based). The role can be flexibly worked around your schedule between Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • £14-£16 per hour depending on experience
  • Holiday: 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, including 2 weeks closure over Christmas & New Year period (7 days to be saved from annual leave entitlement)
  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme with employer contribution
