Administrative Assistant

Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Administrative Assistant at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of pro rata of £22,079 per annum (i.e. £7,401.74) plus pro rata of £610 Crawley Weighting Allowance (i.e. £204.50).

The Administrative Assistant role:

As our Administrative Assistant. you will undertake a range of administrative duties which support this key team, including dealing with enquiries from staff, students and parents. Other key responsibilities include maintaining diaries and calendars, UCAS processing, supporting with student attendance related activities and organising referral meetings.Overall the work you do as our Administrative Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the Student Services team offers the best possible support to our students at Crawley College.

Key Responsibilities of ourAdministrative Assistant:

  • Providing an efficient and effective administrative service for the Student Services team, dealing with enquiries from staff, students and key stakeholders such as schools, members of the public and voluntary agencies.
  • Providing effective support services to staff and students within the area, maintaining excellent customer service, confidentiality and adhering to data protection requiements at all times.
  • Updating and maintaining diaries and calendars, databases, records and reports.
  • Liaising with staff and external organisations, as appropriate.
  • Preparing documentation and correspondence to support the core business and administration of the area and ensure that information is sent out in a timely manner.
  • Providing effective administrative support for the successful implementation of curriculum and cross College initiatives, including online student record systems, UCAS processing, minute taking, supporting with attendance related activities and referral meetings.
  • Providing support when necessary to ensure that area and cross College events, such as open days, run smoothly.

Our ideal Administrative Assistantshould have the below skills and experience:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working within an administrative role
  • An aptitude for handling large amounts of data and paperwork
