Management Accountant | Worksop | £40,000 (Reduced Hours - 4 days per week)

The Opportunity

Thriving SME business in the £10m - £20m turnover bracket have a newly created opportunity for a hands on Management Accountant.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance you’ll play a key role in all aspects of the monthly and annual accounting cycles / financial reporting requirements for the group.

It’s a reasonably complex and very interesting multi-site group and there is plenty of data to drill down into. You’ll be involved balance sheet integrity, management accounts prep and P&L / variance analysis, cost centre reporting, month end close (accruals / prepayments, journals, VAT return, payroll rec etc.).

You’ll be working alongside the transactional finance team (3) and supporting them with any development areas / queries etc.

It’s a varied role within a welcoming environment & growing business. The role is broad and busy but you’ll enjoy a sensible work life balance - full time or 4 days per week (office based).

It would suit a confident Management Accountant / Company Accountant looking for a hands-on role within a professional SME.

You need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into the nitty gritty. You’ll be someone proactive who will naturally strive to improve processes / controls / efficiencies etc. It’s a chance to make a difference and the FD is keen to hear of ideas that lead to streamlining / improved efficiency / enhanced reporting etc.

Required:

• Experience of management accounts preparation within industry or practice.
• AAT absolute minimum - ideally progressing through CIMA or ACCA.
• Great analytical skills and confidence using Excel.
• Sleeves rolled up attitude - someone happy to get into the weeds where required to understand where numbers are coming from and to ensure accuracy and credibility of the pack.
• A calm and measured approach to solving new problems within a growing SME.
