Overview

Our dementia support services are designed to help those who live with dementia to keep up the lifestyle they enjoy for as long as possible and to offer some comfort and support when they’re facing unfamiliar or difficult situations.

We’re currently looking for an Activity Group Co-ordinator to join us on a part-time basis, working 25 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

The Role

As an Activity Group Co-ordinator, you will organise and deliver activities and support groups for people living with dementia and their carers and/or families.

Specifically, you will design, prepare and deliver stimulating and fun activities for groups across the Meanwood, Roundhay and Chapel Allerton areas on a weekly basis.

You will prepare and set up sessions, arrange refreshments and meals and seek feedback from attendees whilst adjusting group delivery accordingly. Additionally, you will process and support newly referred people, ensuring they are integrated into the group.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position, working 25 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

What you’ll need

- Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers
- Experience of delivering activities within a group setting
- Knowledge and experience of dementia (gained from personal or professional experience)
- An understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
- Knowledge of how to safeguard vulnerable adults
- A full, valid driving licence (and access to a vehicle with business insurance - mileage reimbursed)
