Telephone Interpreter - Hmong-Mien (Miao-Yao) / Vietnamese / Thai /Burmese

Are you UK-based and fluent in one of the South-East Asian languages? And do you enjoy helping others? In this freelance role, you'll work with the world's leading language agency, to provide interpretation across a range of industries, including the NHS and the Public Sector.

The Role

• Providing Interpretation services to clients and customers with limited English-proficiency
• Answer requests and interpret real-time conversations both ways via phone call, using a dedicated application.
• Simultaneous / Consecutive Interpreting over the phone in real time
• Providing accurate and complete interpretation whilst demonstrating excellent customer service, at all times

Ideal Person

• Previous experience in interpretation is desirable
• Reside in the UK and be eligible to work in the UK on a self-employed basis
• Fluent in English and one of the South-East Asian languages
• Has in-depth understanding of the cultural dynamics of both languages
• You must hold, or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
• Community Interpreting level 3 certificate is desirable.
