IT Support Technician

If you have experience of providing first line technical support and are looking for a new and varied role working within a friendly and supportive team, then this could be the role for you!

We are looking for an IT Support Technician, to join the IT Team at Marsden Building Society. Working with colleagues from across the entire business, and undertaking a varied role, the successful IT Support Technician will have a love of technology coupled with great communication skills.

Working with our third-party suppliers the IT Support Technician will support the configuration and installation of new desktop hardware, software and operating systems as well as assisting with the information governance framework, server mapping and data flows.

The successful candidate will have an analytical approach to problem solving, triaging all incidents and requests for support, interacting with stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner, and maintaining logs accurately. The IT Support Technician will provide 1st and 2nd line support for generalist IT queries across the organisation.

While experience of working in the Financial Services sector would be beneficial for this role, it isn’t critical. We welcome applications from candidates from other sectors who can demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional first line support.

So what’s in it for you?

Rated outstanding for employee engagement (Best Companies 2023), we are a progressive organisation that values individuality and diversity. We are signed up to the Women in Finance Charter and are proud to have a 55% female Senior Management Team. We are an accredited Living Wage Employer and operate with purpose. In 2022 we set up our Charitable Foundation, and we are always looking for ways in which we can better support our communities.

This role is advertised on a full-time basis, but we will consider applications from candidates wishing to work with a job share or part-time arrangement. While the successful IT Support Technician will need to attend our Head Office in Nelson for 30% of their working week, we have embraced hybrid working and aren’t restricted by geography. Hiring the right person who shares our values and demonstrates the key skills required for this role is far more important to us than rigid working patterns and where someone chooses to live.

In addition to the competitive salary on offer, we also provide an attractive suite of benefits including a generous annual leave entitlement, contributory pension scheme (with 10% employer contribution), life assurance, simply health cover, and discounted memberships.
