Finance Director

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the financial strategies of our organisation across various business units. This pivotal role will shape our financial trajectory, ensuring robust fiscal management, and driving sustainable growth in support of our mission and strategic goals.

The role will start as Part-Time - 3 days a week with 1 hybrid working day. As the company continues to grow this could change to 5 days should this be require

Day to Day of the role:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior management to develop and implement financial strategies
  • Attend Board meetings, prepare papers, and provide strategic financial guidance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, develop financial forecasts, and drive process improvements within the finance function.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and reports, highlighting key metrics and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee internal controls, and implement risk management strategies.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to maintain financial relationships and explore funding opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a charitable or nonprofit organisation with multiple business units.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing finance teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement and contract management.
  • Ability to review and implement changes in systems and procedures to meet business needs.
