Job description

Tradebe currently require a Shift Manager based at our Fawley site in Southampton.

Main purpose of job:

Manage a multi skilled shift team working to a 24hr shift pattern in a high-pressure environment whilst taking responsibility that operation of the plant and all works on site are compliant with regulatory requirements and the Company's safety, environmental and quality policies.

The role

• Issue and complete Permits to Work in accordance with the permit to work/isolations procedures.
• Ensure that reports only undertake tasks that they are trained and competent to perform.
• Be responsible for the site in the event of an incident that involves the Emergency Services and assist them in handling the incident as directed.
• Ensure high levels of housekeeping on site are maintained.
• To lead by example and actively promote the Tradebe PROUD concept.
• Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported.
• Assist in the investigation of complaints received by interrogation via the PCS.
• Investigate incidents / accidents as required to determine methods to prevent recurrence.

• Manage the workload and focus of the shift team to maximise processing and react to the ever-fluid waste priorities whilst adhering to our environmental stipulations without compromising the highest levels of safety standards.
• Hold effective Shift Briefs to ensure production program, planned activities and team briefing notes are understood by all.
• Control the operating parameters of the kiln within compliance limits and maximise throughput of the plant within these limits.
• Ensure downtime analysis is recorded accurately.
• Provide effective reporting on daily throughputs and kiln conditions.

The person

• PC literate (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
• FLT license
• First Aid trained
• Health & Safety Legislation
