We are working with a manufacturing client based in Salfords who are seeking a qualified finance manager to oversee all aspects of the companies financial operations. You will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, managing budgets and forecasts, and providing strategic financial advice to senior management.

Role reports into the CFO

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and revenue recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and monitor and report on variances
  • Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and statutory requirements, and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and policies to safeguard the integrity and reliability of financial information and reporting
  • Analyse financial data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency
  • Support business decision making and strategic planning by providing financial analysis and modelling
  • Develop and implement financial management strategies to reduce financial risk, maximise profits and assist executives in decision making
  • Develop external relationships with auditors, solicitors, bankers and other statutory organisations
  • Build and maintain a high-performance finance team, and provide coaching and training as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing industry
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices, and experience with financial reporting and consolidation
