A reputable conveyancing firm in Central Cheltenham is actively recruiting for a meticulous Legal Cashier. The successful candidate will be tasked with keeping precise financial records, conducting bank reconciliations, handling transactions, generating financial reports, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations. Legal Cashier

  • Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (25 – 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
  • Location: Central Cheltenham (with free parking)
  • Salary: Competitive

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prompt recording of all financial transactions to maintain accurate office and client ledgers.
  • Regular performance of bank reconciliations to align the firm’s financial records with bank statements.
  • Processing of various financial transactions via different methods such as bank transfers and cheques.
  • Production of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to offer insights into cash flow and financial metrics.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations, including VAT and anti-money laundering laws.
  • Facilitating smooth financial operations by liaising with clients, estate agents, and other third parties.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a conveyancing or legal firm.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to maintain precise records.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
