HR and Payroll Officer

HR & Payroll Officer (Term Time Only plus 10 days) 30 or 37 hours

Our client is a leading Bath based school.

The role

They are looking for an HR and Payroll Officer to work 30-37 hours per week on a term time only basis, Monday to Friday with an 8am start each day.

Reporting into the HR Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing an approachable, professional HR service, offering advice and guidance to employees and managers
  • Providing an efficient and responsive HR Operations service
  • Providing HR Management Information on a regular and ad hoc basis as required
  • Support a variety of HR projects.
  • Minute taking at informal and formal meetings as requested.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records (using HR database and manual files)
  • Acting as an HR systems superuser
  • Supporting in the delivery of training on HR systems and processes
  • Organising safeguarding training
  • Ongoing review and development of HR policies and procedures
  • Responsibility for the leavers process
  • Monitoring probation periods
  • End to end recruitment including advertising roles, dealing with candidates, organising interviews, drafting offers of employment, pre-employment checks and organising induction.
  • Supporting payroll, ensuring all required information is passed to external payroll provider in a timely manner and is accurate including starters, leavers, maternity, sickness, pension deductions, pay awards etc.
  • Supporting with pensions administration

The person

  • Previous HR administration experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a school environment would be beneficial.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Flexible attitude to work
  • Able to use initiative.

The Salary

£23,018 - £24,634 (actual based on 37 hours per week) - term time only plus 10 days

Location

Combe Hay, Bath - 100% office based with occasional travel to other sites.
