Accounts Assistant (part time)

Our client is a well-established and growing business, with impressive offices, located in Thame. They are looking for a part time Accounts Assistant to join their business on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance function with the following duties:

  • Processing purchase invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Sales ledger invoicing.
  • Monitor and manage all credit control processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Send weekly customer statements from Sage 200.
  • Maintain and update credit monitoring spreadsheets, identify customers who require further action and ensure this is raised with the relevant internal department where required.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Finance Manager to discuss all items on the sales ledger and to highlight any potential concerns or further actions required.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and address any payment delays or discrepancies promptly.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment and resolve invoicing inquiries or disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing their queries or concerns related to credit matters.
  • Report any bad debit to the Managing Director for sign off.
  • Raise credit notes on Sage 200 updating the relevant sales ledger.
  • Allocate payments made by debtors to invoices on Sage 200 when required.

Successful applicants should have Finance and/or Credit Control experience. The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, be proactive and persistent, with a positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

On offer is a salary of 27-30k (depending on experience), good benefits such as enhanced pension, life assurance and the use of an onsite gym. There is also flexibility on working hours to suit across the week, perhaps 20-25 hours in total based at the office.
