My client are currently working towards expansion into the Automotive sector by utilising their liquid cooled resistor as a braking device for heavy vehicles (buses, lorries trucks etc) and Fuel Cell applications.
Job Overview
The role requires a candidate who is ambitious and motivated, who is keen to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice and have relevant experience in a manufacturing company.
Responsibilities
Take the lead on all Health and Safety activities onsite, including creating and maintaining accurate and up to date health and safety records (including risk assessments, policies accident investigations, training)
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident reports, inspection findings, and recommendations for improvement
Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices
Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability
Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety
Assist with the development, improvement and auditing of the health and safety systems (including ISO 45001)
Skills, Qualification and Experience
Experience as health and safety officer (or similar) within a manufacturing environment
Experience with ISO 45001 (desirable)
NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
