Support Worker

Pay rate: £13.00 to £14.50 (Weekly Pay)

Shift Pattern: 30-36 hours per week
08:00am - 20:00pm Long days
20:00pm - 08:00am - Waking nights

Candidate's should ideally have flexibility to work across both days & nights, even if its occasionally.

Location: Sholing

We cannot provide VISA sponsorshipand we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in the Southampton/Portsmouth area.

This is a permanent position.

Our client is a lovely gentleman with a C4 Spinal Injury following an accident leading to a lack of sensation or movement from the waist down. He lives at home with his family in the Sholing, Southampton area. 

His current condition means he is at high risk of experiencing Autonomic Dysreflexia.  Your role will be to help him meet his medical, personal care and day-to-day assistance needs. You will work alone and as part of a team, operating on shifts to provide 24/7 care.

You’ll receive fully paid, on the job training and you’ll have the opportunity to build your skills whilst cultivating a trusted relationship with the person you support.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You’ll need to:
  • Be caring and approachable
  • Be patient and welcoming
  • Be Helpful, reliable & professional
  • A positive outlook
  • Able to help with personal care
  • Able to prepare meals
  • Potentially administer medication and Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care or related topic, or be willing to study towards this
