We are a rapidly growing management consultancy serving the UK’s leading private equity clients and ambitious businesses across the UK and Europe. Our technology delivery capability in Delhi, India allows us to deliver high value technology and data based consulting and managed services to our clients.

With a footprint of 15 permanent staff in the UK and 60 permanent staff in India, we are now looking to hire a part time financial controller to bring our finance processes in house (from an external accountant), to improve our finance reporting and control process and drive improved decision making.

This part time role is based in our office in Cranbrook, Kent and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a mark in a small but high performing team in a fast-paced environment. Our focus is on ensuring our reporting is robust, whilst constantly looking to iterate and improve what we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts - working with our India office (data input) to create the management accounts(P&L / Balance sheet / Cash Flow)

  • To ensure accurate financial reporting and managing all aspects of month-to-month financial reporting and processes (including payroll and VAT)

  • To lead the financial aspects of the annual budget preparation and financial forecasting

  • Variance analysis and drafting commentary, to provide insights into business performance

  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates and actionable recommendations

  • Identifying process efficiencies, control weaknesses and implementing improvements to drive profitability

  • Mentor and provide guidance to our India Finance staff (2 PQ accountants / Finance data input)

  • Take ownership of cash management including the AR cycle, ensuring invoicing, approvals and coding are correct and ongoing liquidity is maximised

  • Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on new challenges

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Part Qualified / Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA

  • Proven experience as a management accountant, ideally in a professional services or a technology-driven business

  • Solid experience working with Xero or similar

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and experience in creating MS Power BI charts / graphs

  • Experience in private equity backed portfolio companies would be an advantage

We believe the right person for this role will:

  • Be someone who has experience in managing the finance function of an expanding professional services business (or similar) and who has a desire to work part-time

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business, including our office in Delhito manage the accurateinput to our accounting system (Xero)

  • Have a desire to challenge existing thinking around how we perform our work, to problem solve and improve management reporting (through MS Excel and MS power BI)

  • Have an ability to think to bring in and iterate on the experience, skills and knowledge of best practice that you have seen elsewhere

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaininga high level of accuracy and professionalism.
