Kenton Black are delighted to be working with an established and growing 10 partner firm, largely grown from the training programme in the firm and working across their two main offices, Goole and York.

They are currently looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their team in Goole.
They currently employ circa 50-60 staff across the two offices and the firm has been around for the last 125 years.

The firms offering is broad, encompassing audit, accounts, tax and payroll and their client coverage is also broad with a dental specialism out of the York office and Goole having a large agricultural base.

Their clients are typically SME, owner managed businesses with turnovers up to £50m. Lots of family run businesses where the firm operates a holistic approach across all areas (audit, accounts, tax, payroll).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a senior role in the corporate department based in Goole.

As Audit & Accounts Manager you will be managing a portfolio of clients and reporting directly to a partner. The work primarily involves the delivery of a wide range of timely, high quality accounts, audit and tax compliance assignments for clients with turnover ranging from £1million to £100million. The role also requires supervision of trainees and reviewing their work.

Whilst the focus is on compliance, there are also many opportunities to significantly expand the range and breadth of experience through direct engagement with clients, attending meetings, ad hoc projects and working as part of a team to deliver a proactive service. No two days are the same.

PERSON SPECIFICATION FOR THE ROLE OF AUDIT & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

-ACA / ACCA qualification (or qualified by experience) with at least two years statutory audit experience ideally at manager level gained in an accounting practice
-Experience of SME private company audits and statutory accounts preparation under FRS 102
-Sound IT skills
-Ability to multitask, manage deadlines and prioritise work effectively
-Good attention to detail
-Experience of supervising and reviewing the work of trainees
--Excellent ‘soft’ skills including written, spoken communications, problem solving and people/client relationship management
-Ability to work with people at all levels
-Clean driving license
