Play Worker

Salary: £16.43 per hour

Contract Type: Zero Hour Contract

We're looking for an experienced Play Worker for our Roman Road Adventure Playground in Bow, London, E3.

You'll have the ability to work 3pm - 7pm weekdays during term time, 12-5pm on Saturdays and 12-5pm during school holidays. You must have a qualification and experience working with children age 6-15 on an Adventure Playground.

What you'll be doing

You'll work as part of a team and share responsibility for planning play activities to create a high-quality stimulating environment offering a range of play opportunities. The role may involve delivering play sessions with and for other community development projects run by Clarion Futures.

You'll deliver high quality inclusive play work sessions under pinned by the play work principles and informed by play work theories and practice. The post involves talking to parents, carers, and the wider community about the project, involving them in session delivery and sustainability and always being an advocate for play.

What you'll need

The ideal candidate will have a minimum qualification of Cache/NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Play work or JNC recognised qualification in youth and Community work. Along with the ability to provide and facilitate high quality play experiences, you'll have extensive experience working with young people aged 6-15 in a playful setting.

You'll have a good understanding of and commitment to good quality play with a basic awareness of health and safety practices.
