Job Title: Purchase Ledger Assistant 

Salary: Up to £26,000 (experience-dependent)

Location: Stroud

Employment Type: Part-time, 25 to 30 hours per week.

Our client is a family-owned business with operations across various sectors. They are currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their small yet friendly finance team. The successful candidate will assist the Purchase Ledger Manager in managing daily operations in a fast-paced setting.

As the new Purchase Ledger Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Manage Purchase Orders and Invoices: Record Goods Received Notes in the ledger against purchase orders, handle invoice processing ensuring accuracy in price/rate checks and prepare invoices for daily posting to the ledger.
  • Supplier Communication and Reconciliation: Address invoice queries with suppliers, follow up effectively, and reconcile purchase ledger balances with supplier statements.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordinate invoice authorisation and liaise with various group departments.

To excel as the Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will require:

  • Experience and Skills: Prior experience in a purchase ledger role, proficiency in IT, numeracy, and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Work Ethic and Attitude: Ability to prioritise tasks, work efficiently, maintain a positive and proactive attitude, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication and Development: Excellent communication skills, ability to foster relationships with customers and operational managers, and enthusiasm for learning and development.
