We are looking for a professional part time Housekeeper for a private household based in Croft Cheshire.

Providing support for a busy household the successful applicant will be responsible for the upkeep of a large 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. The ideal applicant will be passionate about delivering a high standard of care and cleaning standards, be loyal and carry out their duties with professionalism and trust.

The role will be working within a stable and lovely team which includes a nanny, stable staff and gardener.

Previous experience as a housekeeper would be preferable but not essential just the willingness and passion to create a considered and high standard environment and home.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning woodwork
• Clearing fireplace
• Cleaning and sanitising toilets, showers / bathtubs, countertops and sinks
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area including appliances
• Making beds and changing linens
• Washing windows
• Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
• Sweeping / vacuuming, polishing, and mopping/buffing hard floors
• Management of the Laundry Room with the responsibility of the household laundry and ironing, and be familiar with working with fine fabrics, silk and can ensure well kept curtains
• Dropping off and picking up dry cleaning
• Wardrobe organisation and management
• Dress house and ensure tidy and ready for visitors; keeping the house spotless, clean, organised and tidy at all times
• Using any cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other cleaning tools
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with clean towels, toiletries, and other supplies
• Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces
• Emptying rubbish and disposing of waste correctly
• Managing bins and recycling
• Tidying rooms
• Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed
• Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements
• Food shopping when needed and helping cook if necessary although
• Assisting with posting and receiving deliveries and groceries
• Notify of any maintenance issues and liaise with gardeners/handymen
• Holiday packing/unpacking
• Assisting with Christmas, Birthdays and special events - celebrations/parties; decorating the house, wrapping presents and having a hands on approach to assisting all aspects of a smooth run celebration
• Assisting when the family entertain - e.g. dressing the dining room, setting tables
• Running Errands
• Willing to build a relationship with the children - 2 boys age 14 and 9 and assist with them should it be necessary although there is a nanny as part of the team

The successful candidate will be somebody who is passionate for consistently achieving impeccable standards and will play an integral part in the household team. You must have meticulous cleaning standards that is focused on creating a lovely family home which is to the highest standards.

This is a hands on role and the family are looking for someone they can trust and will be an extension of their family. Candidates must not be allergic to rabbits, dogs or horses, although it is a pet free household there are animals on the farm which is situated adjacent to the house.
