Salary: £13.72 ph + Benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 36 hours per week

Senior Carer - The Role:

As a Senior Carer you will oversee the care and support of all residents in line with the Health & Social care Standards within the home. To take responsibility for the day to day running of the care home in the absence of a member of the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by all Care staff in supporting Residents, with all aspects of daily living.
• Provide cover or remain on duty until appropriate cover is in place.
• Take responsibility for the effective running of the home in the absence of a member of the leadership team.
• Dispense medication using correct policies and procedures.
• Participate in the admission of new residents, including creating and reviewing care plans, and arranging and taking part in care review meetings.
• Ensure all care staff are maintaining accurate records.
• Participate in the induction of new staff as and when required.
• Participate in Staff supervisions and appraisals.
• Ensure care staff are engaged and involved in the daily activity programme.
• Ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the home, and to create a warm welcoming environment for
everyone.

Senior Carer - Candidate specification:

• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Genuine interest in and experience of working with the relevant Resident group
• Ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• A minimum of N/SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards gaining the level 3 qualification.
• Strong leadership qualities
• Satisfactory PVG
• Registered with SSSC or other professional bodies
