Reed are currently partnering exclusively with a reputable client in search of a dedicated part time Accountant to join their finance team. This role is integral to the company’s operations, involving the preparation of management accounts, collaborating with senior management to monitor performance and costs, and handling month-end and year-end accounts. This position offers a blend of remote work with a requirement to be in the office one day a week.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 pro-rata

Location: B3, Birmingham - Hybrid

Job Type: Part-time (25 hours per week, flexible) 

Day to day of the role:

• Prepare and analyse management accounts, providing insights to senior management
• Oversee month-end and year-end account preparation, ensuring financial reporting accuracy
• Conduct VAT return preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Accurately input supplier and consultant invoices
• Manage full sales ledger processing for complex consultancy services
• Perform credit control activities to maintain healthy cash flow
• Work closely with senior management to inform financial decisions and strategies

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with the Xero accounting package is essential 
• Solid experience in full accounting cycle management, including management accounts preparation
• Familiarity with VAT returns and sales/purchase ledger processing
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial data handling
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
