Senior Manager - Internal Communications

Job Profile Summary:

As a growing firm with approximately 1,800 employees across the globe (around 900 in London), internal communications has become an increasingly significant priority for Man Group. We are now seeking to establish a dedicated internal communications role to sit within the Global Communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening our employee communications strategy and taking the lead on day-to-day execution. They will also act as a business partner to the People and Corporate Sustainability teams, as well as supporting other senior internal stakeholders as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a global strategic vision for the internal communications function at Man Group in conjunction with the broader Communications team and other stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day internal communications for Man Group, maintaining momentum for existing initiatives and ensuring that business goals, initiatives and people news are communicated effectively, reflecting the global nature of our business by making use of different channels across the firm
  • Delivery of daily employee newsletter
  • Develop and maintain firmwide standards and processes across Man Group for internal communications materials and activities, working closely with senior stakeholders in each business area
  • Prepare presentations and talking points for senior executives to share internal updates
  • Oversee weekly CEO communications to employees
  • Work with the Corporate Sustainability team to increase employee engagement and support communications including for DE&I and community outreach as organised by networks and affinity groups throughout the firm
  • Support the People team to deliver a strategic communications programme around HR and Talent initiatives, policies, and resources, helping employees better understand Man Group's business and the support on offer
  • Lead on strategic internal communications materials surrounding corporate development initiatives
  • Leverage in-house metrics and insights, implementing a data-driven approach where possible to further measure employee engagement with communications, aggregating feedback, and tracking progress to refine communications strategy
  • Support Communications team with internal communications in relation to issues management
  • Compile and deliver ad hoc internal reports on activity, progress and evolving employee engagement strategy
  • Drafting and editing of corporate-level award submissions and assisting with developing a strategic approach to applications
Key Skills & Experience:
  • 8+ years' experience in corporate communications, preferably within a large organisation, developing and implementing internal communications strategies
  • Excellent English language writing ability, proofing and presentation creation skills
  • Good understanding of financial services and asset management industry language
  • Strong issues management experience and calm under pressure
  • Ability to interact and influence across all levels of the firm with strong appetite for networking to develop relationships across many teams and geographies
  • Strong grasp of DE&I-related themes and issues
  • Video and podcast creation experience preferred
  • Friendly demeanour and a true team player who is happy to collaborate with others and 'roll up their sleeves'
  • Strategic thinker, sound judgement, strong project manager (ability to juggle many moving parts at once), and high attention to detail
  • Innovative, creative and a self-starter
  • High levels of discretion
  • PLC experience helpful but not essential
  • Strong academic record
