Salary Range £42,608 - £45,956 depending on skills and experience or pro rata p/t

Arc is looking for a talented and experienced Head of Finance to join our leadership team, heading up all our financial operations and managing our finance team.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant with at least three year experience of md-level or senior financial management to join our Leadership team and contribute to Arc’s overall strategic direction.

Arc is a small charitable supported housing provider seeking to prevent and end homelessness across Somerset. We have a turnover of circa £2.6 million, employ about 40 staff and a similar number of volunteers.

You will enjoy working in an environment of change, being part of a collaborative leadership team, and being able to commit with energy and enthusiasm to helping everyone to be the best that we can be.

Working closely with the CEO and the rest of the leadership team, accountable to our board, you will play a key role overseeing the financial strategy and financial management of the organisation.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive long term financial planning, managing financial risk, and for leading on all day to day financial operations. Directly managing a small finance team as well ensuring good financial information and communication across the whole of the organisation.

Your experience will include budget setting, managing rolling budgets, capital programmes, producing Statutory end of year accounts, managing payroll, contract management and procurement strategies.

You’ll have strong organisational skills, remaining calm under pressure, have excellent attention to detail whilst remaining aware of the bigger picture. Proficient and experienced across the Office 365 suite, including SharePoint as well as accounting software.

Equally important are good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience of working in charities, and/or an understanding of homelessness and/or local authorities are an added advantage. Able to commit to Arc’s values and our purpose to address the needs of homeless people are vital.

Based in our Taunton Office with some flexibility to work from home if full time. Minimum 3 days a week in the office.
