Part-time Credit Controller

Responsibilities of the Part-time Credit Controller:

  • Effective Collection of Overdue Accounts: Responsible for contacting customers with overdue accounts and ensuring timely and effective collection. This involves maintaining a record of all chasing activities.
  • Cash Monitoring and Allocation: Monitor incoming cash and allocate it to appropriate accounts. This includes reconciling bank statements.
  • Work in Progress Reporting: Provide reports to other members of staff about the status of ongoing projects and their financial implications.
  • Invoicing: Generate sundry and ad hoc invoices using Sage 200 software.
  • Cashflow Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cashflow reports to track the financial liquidity of the organisation.
  • Debt Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor and report on metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and payment arrangements.
  • Reminder Letters and Follow-Up: Generate debt chasing reminder letters and follow up on the reminder letter process.
  • Telephone Communication: Make phone calls to clients for debt-related discussions.
  • Bad Debt Collection Procedures: Manage procedures for collecting bad debts, including collaboration with solicitors and collection support services.
  • Customer Account Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and relevant information.
  • Query Handling and Investigation: Address customer queries and investigate any discrepancies or issues related to accounts.

Requirements:

  • Previous Credit Control Experience: Ideally, candidates should have experience in credit control within a small team environment.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Sage 200: Familiarity with Sage 200 software for invoicing and financial management.
  • B2B Collections: Experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections, managing relationships with commercial clients.
  • Strong Excel Skills: Proficient in using Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Relationship Building and Communication: Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, along with excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical Approach: Capacity to analyse financial data and metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Property Knowledge: While not mandatory, knowledge of property-related finance could be advantageous.
  • Educational Background: GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.

In return as the Part-time Credit Controller, you will be:

  • Working 3 full days a week from the office in East London (Central Line)
  • Pro-rata salary based on £30,000 - £32,000 to £18,000 - £19,200 + generous bonus structure.
