My client is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their small and friendly team at an event management company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, proficiency in SAGE, and a solid understanding of VAT. This role is office-based with some flexibility on days and requires the ability to work independently, playing a key role in maintaining their accounting administration up to date and in line with reporting standards.
Day to Day of the role:
Manage all aspects of Sales and Supplier Management, including posting client and supplier invoices and payments.
Handle expenses, process credit card payments, and allocate income and costs to events, reconciling against event budgets.
Control event payments and accruals for correct revenue recognition in line with accounting policies.
Manage commission claims.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, salary journals, Debtor and Creditor Management.
Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review by the company accountant.
Assist the company accountant with all preparations for Year End Accounts.
Generate ad hoc reports as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency in Sage and thorough knowledge of all aspects of VAT.
Ability to work independently and without supervision.
Good communication skills to liaise with customers and suppliers effectively.
