Morgan McKInley are currently working with a global mining business based in Central London on a Hybrid basis and will be an immediate start

Morgan McKinley are currently working with a global mining business in looking for a Group Accountant for an initial period 3 months.

This is an immediate start, the role is based in London and will be Hybrid, with 3 days expected in the office. Experience within the mining sector will be a big plus but not essential,

Duties will include.

Preparation of the monthly Group consolidation and the Group monthly financial report for presentation to the CFO

* Assisting with the preparation of the Group's Annual Report and Interim Report, and other relevant external reporting

* Providing assistance with technical accounting matters across the Group, including the preparation of Board papers to support our positions

* Preparation of weekly cash reporting and cash balances for Group Financial Planning and Analysis ('FP&A')

* Ownership of monthly management accounts for a number of corporate entities

* Analysis and monitoring of financial performance to budget and forecasts

* Preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS for a number or corporate entities, including being the main point of contact for the auditors

* Preparation and processing of intercompany reconciliations and recharges.

* Ownership of balance sheet accounts and related reconciliations

* Ad hoc duties and projects.

Ideally you will be

* ACA qualified accountant with a minimum of two year post qualification experience

* Big Six experience of listed international businesses

* Good knowledge of accounting software (ideally MS Business Central) and MS Office with advanced Excel skills. Experience of MS SharePoint, Power BI/Power Pivot would also be beneficial.

* Tax experience, particularly in UK corporation tax, personal tax or VAT would be advantageous but not essential

* Decisive, with problem solving aptitude

* Hands-on and "can do" approach

* Investigative mentality and a strong commitment to accuracy

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal

* Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly s an immediate start duties will include
