We’re looking for a Head of Delegated Authority who will be instrumental in the delivery of our ambitions to grow and centralise our delegated authority (DA) business across all of Travelers Europe. In this newly created role you will focus on building a robust and scalable operating model; leading in the set up and implementation of our new delegated authority centre of excellence, supporting all non-underwriting services across the end-to-end delegated authority life cycle: - Enabling the efficient on-boarding and management of all DA underwriting contracts, ensuring adequate operational due diligence is performed. - Reviewing and advising on non-commercial terms in collaboration with the DA Underwriting Leadership teams across all Travelers Europe business units. - Monitoring and maintaining delegated data standards, provide EPI management and be responsible for managing all regulatory and internal DA audits. Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion. Execute the Portfolio and Delegated Underwriting strategy; support Underwriting to develop and manage risk appetite, service offering, segmentation, and leverage broker relationships. Review DA deals and renewals to ensure they align to our business plans and appetite and conduct operational due diligence. Manage the deal structuring, consulting and agreeing the non-commercial terms and monitor the DA data standards and compliance. Manage post-bind DA servicing by conducting EPI management, managing mid-term adjustments (MTA), preparing renewal packs and any renewal revisions. Accountable and responsible for the matrix management of the extended virtual team that provide the support services across the end to end lifecycle of DA support services. Responsible for DA monitoring and reporting, including monitoring binder underwriting performance, Lloyd’s reporting and monitoring operational performance. Perform DA Audit Oversight, conducting Coverholder Underwriting audits and delegated Claims audits. Track recommendation actions and escalate actions as required. Represent DASS on DA Panel (DAP) and other management committees. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Expert level knowledge of Delegated Authority (DA) underwriting, the relevant regulatory environments, and the Travelers Europe local (UK/Ireland) and regional (EEA) and global specialty (Lloyd’s / London Company Market) insurance markets. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to underwrite, market products, identify financial challenges, and analyse available information to make decisions in alignment with our risk appetite. Ability to execute strategic direction across DA in partnership with leadership. Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate in difficult situations with stakeholders and brokers. Experience coaching and mentoring reports. Ability to work with people from different backgrounds, experiences, cultures, races, etc. and views those differences as assets to be leveraged to accomplish business goals and objectives. Advanced knowledge of organisational and relevant regulatory requirements, policies, procedures. ACII qualification preferred. What is a Must Have? Experience of leading Delegated Authority Underwriting support services. Leading and managing teams via direct line management and through matrix management. What Is in It for You? Retirement: Travelers will make a basic contribution of 9% of pensionable salary to your Group Personal Pension Plan (“GPPP”). If you decide to contribute an additional amount from your salary, you will receive an increased company contribution up to a maximum of 3%. This would bring the total company contribution to 12%.
