Senior Accounts Assistant

Our client is an award-winning charity working across the Southwest to provide support to people with drug and alcohol dependencies, as well as those with complex psychological and social needs. In 2022 the Charity supported over 30,000 people in accessing vital services. In 2024 the charity has taken on two large contracts, increasing their capacity to support more people across the Southwest.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the role:

  • Posting journals to the purchase ledger
  • Reconciling control accounts
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing schedules of Prepayments and Accruals
  • Preparing schedules of Accrued and Unearned income
  • Maintaining and reconciling schedule of Restricted Funds
  • Meet with managers throughout the Trust to discuss accounts and any errors 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Management Accounts
  • Knowledge of processing sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger.
  • Ability to reconcile bank accounts and control accounts.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prepare and present reports to senior management.
  • Confident.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

This role is part time at 28 hours per week (full-time might be considered for the right candidate)
