Service Coordinator

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Service Coordinator to join our team.You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £11.27 per hour. (please note this role is subject to a pay award from April 2024)

About the Service Coordinator role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team providing activities and food for older people across Fife.  You will be working with other Coordinators to provide activities that entertain and encourage social interaction in a safe and friendly environment.

Alongside the Service Manager and the rest of the team you will be involved in developing activities which provide physical and mental stimulation and trips out.  Food is provided for clients at all of our groups and transport is also provided.

You will also be responsible for the training and ongoing support of volunteers to support these groups, providing a fun and life enhancing service for our clients.

You will support the Service Manager and volunteers to promote the services widely and encourage new clients and volunteers.

Hours: 4 days x 6 hours between Monday and Friday. Actual working days to be agreed with successful candidate. 24 hours per week

What you'll bring as ourService Coordinator:

  • Experience of working with older people
  • Delivering activities within a group setting
  • Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems – Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, client database entry and management
  • A knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional) is desirable
  • Understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Good organisation and facilitation skills
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage reimbursed)
