Chair - Integrated Care Board

CHAIR

BLACK COUNTRY ICB

The NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory NHS organisation responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of 1.26 million people in the Black Country. We are part of the Black Country Integrated Care System (ICS), known as Healthier Futures, working to bring health and social care services closer together for the good of our communities.

Established on 1 July 2022 to manage the NHS budget for the area and arrange for the provision of health services locally, we are responsible for planning and buying primary medical services, dental, optometry, and pharmacy services. Our vision is to lead health and care collaboration in the Black Country to enable all our communities to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

As Chair you will champion action to help meet the four core purposes of Integrated Care Systems; to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare; tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access; enhance productivity and value for money and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

An ambassador for and champion of effective partnership working with local government and NHS bodies you will drive collaborative leadership and new governance arrangements across the ICS. You will provide strong leadership on issues that impact upon organisations and workforce across the ICS, including integration, the people agenda, digital transformation, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and high-level operational challenges.

With prior executive or non-executive Board experience you will have a demonstrable interest in health and social care and a strong desire to achieve the best sustainable outcomes for all patients and service users through encouraging continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and value for money.

A strong understanding of financial management coupled with the ability to balance the competing objectives of quality, operational performance, and finance will underpin your experience of leading transformational change, managing complex organisations, budgets, and people.
