Job Type: Part-Time 24.5 hours per week – Flexible work pattern and Hybrid
Salary Range: £25,000 - £28,500 FTE
We are seeking a Finance Assistant with a methodical approach to problem-solving and a thorough understanding of finance-related roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. This role involves maintaining accounting records, managing complex financial tasks, and providing guidance to less experienced staff.
Day to Day of the role:
Maintain accounting records using Sage 50 accounts, ensuring all ledgers are up to date.
Manage fixed asset register, prepayments, accruals, deferred income, and accrued income schedules.
Set up online payment runs and maintain the imprest system.
Perform regular bank and supplier reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies.
Complete monthly control account reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager.
Collate and prepare salary information for processing.
Uphold company values and ensure compliance with governance policies.
Communicate effectively with the Finance Manager, customers, and suppliers as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working in a finance department and maintaining accounting records.
All round accounts experience including Purchase ledger, Sales ledger and Reconciliation work
Part qualified/qualified with a recognised accountancy body (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
Proficient in Sage 50 accounts and Microsoft Office.
Ability to meet milestones, communicate effectively at all levels, and work under pressure.
High level of Excel skills.
