Salary: £14.41 per hour
Location: Kempston
Type of Contract: Contract up to 6 months
Hours: 20 hours a week over 5 days

The role…

As the Payroll Officer, your role will involve the following important duties:

• Advise and review working methods and controls relating to all payroll practices.
• Interpret and advise on NJC, Local Government Association, DWP and HMRC. 
• Undertake complex calculations and collate information.
• Review and process additional hours, overtime, expenses and more.
• Investigate and resolve pay issues as they arise.
• Complex pay calculations and routine pay claims.
• High-volume data entry and manipulation. 

The experience required…

As a successful Payroll Officer, you will have the following:

• In-depth experience of interpreting HRMC regulations & providing advice to employees and managers is essential.
• AAT qualified or working towards.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and report on data.
• Working knowledge of statutory payments and deductions and relevant HMRC-related legislation.
• In-depth knowledge of complex numerical calculations.
