Support staff - Split shifts

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Part time Support Workers to join our team in Wombourne, WV5. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to a young lady living at home with her family and pets.


Wage/Salary:  £15.50 gph, weekdays / £108.50 gross per day. £17.50 gph weekends/£192.50 per day. Bank holidays, £31.00 gross per hour 
Driver Essential? Yes, and a car will be provided whilst on duty, a Volkswagen transporter – automatic.  A valid UK driving licence is required and for car insurance purposes, you must be over 25 years old.   
Essential: One year plus experience supporting young people with physical disabilities. Enhanced DBS check or happy to obtain one.  Non-smoker/vaper. Moving and handling  * Female support worker only
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours:  Shifts available:  Tuesday and Friday and occasional weekends. Weekdays 08.00 am to 10.30 am /4.00 pm to 8.30 pm. Weekends, 09.30 am to 8.30 pm plus sleeping in shifts available  If you can do these hours please apply. 
Family/Client Pets: 2 very beautiful dogs
Accommodation: If required for any additional sleeping night shifts, very comfortable staff bedroom with ensuite bathroom

  • Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote independence and well-being.
  • Support individuals in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
  • Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Monitor and report any changes in individuals' physical or mental health conditions.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Attend training sessions and stay updated on best practises in social services.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
  • Previous experience in a similar Support Worker role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Flexible availability for different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Education:
  • No specific educational requirements, but relevant qualifications in health and social care are advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of person-centred care and its importance in supporting individuals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to social services.
  • Basic understanding of medication administration and record-keeping.
  • Ability to assess and respond to individuals' needs effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Additional training in safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
  • Bank hours available.
  • Split shifts Monday to Friday, with long days on weekends.
  • Work may involve physical tasks and standing for extended periods.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for insurance purposes.
  • Dogs will be present in the home during shifts, but they are friendly and an important part of the family so will not be locked away.
  • Exposure to challenging and sensitive situations.
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines and protocols.
