Positive Behaviour Support Specialist Trainer, 22.5 hours £35,000 FTE

The Learning and Development team provides a high quality and service specific training to all staff within Optalis, ensuring it meets the standards set by Skills for Health and Care, CQC, and other regulatory bodies. We promote Optalis’ key values throughout all our interactions, supporting managers to assess their staff’s learning needs and ensuring that those needs are met.
This role will be implementing and delivering training on a new Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) package (PROACT- SCIPr-UK®)to Optalis staff members

Responsibilities will be to deliver training to services across Optalis, including those that work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, neurodiversity, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, dementia and those that self-harm.

This is a professionally demanding and challenging opportunity, but ultimately a satisfying role.

Joining now this role will give you the opportunity to shape the implementation with the support from the wider L&D team.

You will be working and delivering training (in conjunction with other trainers) to our service in residential settings, day services and in the community.

To devise and deliver a variety of PROACT- SCIPr - UK® induction and refresher training (Reflecting the prescribed approaches & responses as set out by PROACT-SCIPr - UK®) tailored to meet the individuals that the services work with, ensuring the right values, skills and behaviours are implemented to our staff teams across Optalis.

The majority of training will be theory based and techniques to keep safe with limited services currently needing physical intervention training.

You will train and guide the staff teams to support our customers to have the best outcomes and for staff to understand and find better ways of meeting customer’s needs through communication.

The successful candidate will Hold a PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructors qualification or willing and able to attend PROACT-SCIPr-UK® full training and requalification yearly as per the companies' requirements.

You will need to be a car driver and have access to a vehicle daily.
