• Position:H&SCompliance Manager
• Salary:? £30,000 to £35,000
• Location: Various sites in Hailsham, Hastings, Ashford and Crawley
• Hours: 9-5pm four days a week

Excellent opportunity for a Health and Safety professional to take on a challenging role with a growing commercial waste management business. Looking after Health and Safety functions for four of its sites throughout the Southeast, the successful candidate will have IOSH qualification and experience of ISO accreditation standards.

The role includes:

• To remain updated on relevant QEH&S laws and regulations and apply them to company practices to minimize QEH&S risks.
• To ensure and manage the QEH&S compliance of all Company sites and to all necessary requirements, accreditation and certification as required to run and operate as Metal Recycling Yards.
• To act as the Company's Technically Competent Manager in all aspects of QEH&S.
• Promote the continuing improvement in QEH&S of all business areas ensuring that all sites meet the relevant statutory requirements.
• Support all business functions in the investigation of accidents & incidents and assist in the development of the necessary actions to mitigate reoccurrence.
• Maintain the Company ISO certifications and on-going accreditation.
• To be the interface between the Company and all necessary Enforcing Authorities, such as the HSE, Environment Agency, Fire & Rescue Services and Local Authorities.
• To manage and monitor all necessary Environmental and Health & Safety statutory emission testing, such as emission to water, air, vibrations, and noise.

Ideally certified to a relevant regulatory body for example IOSH or IEMA, willing to work towards WMITAB qualification, or willing to work towards. You must have the flexibility to work in various sites in the Southeast and have a full clean driving licence. Knowledge and experience in the metal recycling industry would be an advantage.
