Part-Time Financial Accountant

In this Part-Time Financial Accountant role, you will:

  • Take full responsibility for maintaining records of financial transactions and generate monthly reports for management review.
  • Lead in the production of statutory accounts and serve as the key point of contact for all audit related queries.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in producing the annual budget and provide support to budget holders to investigate variances and answer queries.
  • Provide advice and guidance to international partners regarding financial policies and guidelines.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Coordinate month-end closure activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, to ensure smooth and efficient financial reporting processes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a full CCAB Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, ICAS etc.)
  • Have experience working within the not-for-profit sector and have an understanding of charity SORP. Or have experience auditing charities within practice.
  • Have demonstrable experience overseeing the closure of month-end or assisted heavily in this area.
  • Be familiar and have exposure producing reports for restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Have experience overseeing the year-end audit process from end to end.
