Environmental Protection Officer - Land/Permits

Ashfield District Council have a great opportunity for a talented, committed, and friendly Environmental Protection Officer – Land/Permits to join us in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis, working 18.5 hours per week, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £14,888 - £16,038 per annum (pay award pending).

You can utilise problem solving skills for a positive outcome. You are a committed but flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team player and looking to work in busy, high-profile environment delivering legislation and regulations associated with all areas of environmental protection.

You will have the ability to monitor and manage your own casework, make timely decisions, and deliver agreed outcomes. You will have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and will possess excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to excellent negotiation skills, and an ability to explain legislation, procedures and requirements to a wide audience.

A demonstrable experience working in local authority or the private industry performing pollution control or environmental protection duties are essential criteria for this position and you will be qualified to HNC/HND level in science or an equivalent qualification.
