Finance Assistant - Part Time

A valued client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated individual to join their finance team in the essential role of a Finance Assistant on a part time basis (approx 30 hrs a week). This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of data entry, control, processing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Data Administration and Processing: You will be responsible for the day-to-day accurate, timely, and consistent financial data administration and processing. This includes handling purchase invoices, making timely payments, managing divisional monthly cash sheets, credit cards, and other payments, producing division and department related invoices, and providing financial support to our Department Heads.

  2. Finance Reporting: You will be responsible for key areas of finance reporting, including producing weekly reports, monthly purchase ledger reporting, producing variance reports, and supporting with ad-hoc reports as required.

  3. Accounting and Cash Handling: You will support areas of accounting and cash handling, including supporting and undertaking cash handling processes and production of relevant schedules to support any other financial management needs.

  4. Business and Finance Functions Support: You will provide support across all Business and Finance functions, including covering during other staff absences, supporting e-mail management, supporting the regular review of processes and systems, and supporting all other Finance responsibilities as required.

The ideal candidate will have specialist skills and experience to connect information or “join the dots” that may have wider financial implications. You will work collaboratively with our established Finance and Administration Team to ensure a collaborative and successful ethos in all work undertaken.

You will need to be proficient on Excel, ideally with AAT Level 2 or with at least 2 years experience in a similar post.
