Transport Coordinator

Job description


Salary: £26,000 - £28,900

Main purpose of job:


To ensure the efficient and cost effective co ordination of transport movements within the designated areas of responsibility. Ensure that customers are service in a timely, compliant and accurate manner and transport requirements are met in full.

The role

  • Liaison with customer services and respond to external customers transport needs.
  • Support Sales Executives with enquiry liaison and quotation requests from contractors.
  • Ensure vehicle servicing is up to date and accurate records are maintained in order to comply with legal requirements and internal audits.
  • Request paperwork for incoming/outgoing bookings.
  • Responsible for providing all data to hauliers to allow safe carriage and organising collections where appropriate.
  • Maintain working relationships with third party transport companies.
  • Liaise with operations, customer services and sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Input relevant information on haulage parameters into databases/spreadsheets.
  • Filing, archiving and scanning of relevant documentation.
  • To assist others with their duties as may be reasonably requested and to undertake tasks of a general nature which are required in the day to day operation of the office
  • Raising of Purchase Orders on the system.
  • Process all invoices.
  • To assist, as and when required, in providing holiday/sickness cover for other group transport movements.
  • ADHOC cover for colleagues in the Admin Department
