An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Operative to join the Excelcare family in our London region at our Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley.  

What to expect:

• Salary: £31,277 - £32,215
• 45 hours a week from 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What you will need:

We are looking for a general all-rounder who has good attention to detail with a positive can do attitude, enjoy working in a client facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.

This position is the upkeep and maintenance of the care home site including all buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, specialist equipment and all of its general contents.

You must be able to attend call outs working additional hours on request. Previous Maintenance experience is essential, as well as computer knowledge and good reading and writing skills.

A full driving license and vehicle is essential as travel will be required for projects or annual leave/sickness across our London homes which are all based in Southeast London. You will be paid for mileage. You will also need your own basic tools for the Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the building and equipment
• Carry out routine checks daily, weekly, monthly, annually on systems in the home- e.q Legionella testing, emergency lights and fire alarm testing
• and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe
• Maintain awareness of the Company and Unit policies and procedures especially the Fire Policy.
• Participate in Training and Development as an individual and as part of the team.
• Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
• Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
• Control and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries.
• Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
• Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.
• To carry out any additional duties as requested.
• To undertake any additional training and development programmes considered appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home.

Candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Application.
