3D IMAGING BRINGS A NEW DIMENSION TO COSMETIC SURGERY AT JAMES MURPHY PLASTIC SURGERY

New technology allows patients to preview how they will look with cosmetic surgery procedures

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

30/04/2014

Manchester, England ( connect2business.co.uk ) April 30, 2014 - If you are one of the thousands of people each year considering cosmetic or aesthetic plastic surgery, James Murphy Plastic Surgery has some good news for you. Recent advances in three dimensional (3D) photography, combined with revolutionary new software, allow prospective patients to preview what they will look like as the result of breast augmentation, facial procedures, and much more, well in advance of any surgery.

As only the second practice in the UK, and the first outside London to use this innovative 3D Imaging technology, James Murphy has just raised the bar even higher for the quality of the total service delivered to his patients in Manchester.

Both the VECTRA® 3D camera and Sculptor software which make this possible were developed by Canfield Imaging Systems in the US, the world's leading provider of medical photography systems. The entire process lasts just a few minutes, starting with a VECTRA 3D session which takes a number of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view. These images are merged to produce a three-dimensional model of the patient on the screen. Finally, using Sculptor software, James Murphy is able to simulate the expected results of a variety of cosmetic surgical procedures.

"My patients absolutely love this," said James Murphy. "For the first time, they are able to see a 3D picture of themselves with their new look. And because it is in 3D, I can rotate their picture to any viewpoint so that they can really examine the desired result. We can make changes here and there, preview various surgical options, and agree on a procedure that best suits their personal goals. Because they have already seen the result, they can have confidence in the outcome of the procedure. This really helps them make a fully informed decision".
