Job Type: Part-time (32.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year)
Salary: £33,953 - £36,852 (Pro rata, dependent on qualification and experience) (FTE is £41585 - 45135)
We are seeking a School Business Manager to provide strategic leadership and management of key school functions including Finance, HR, Premises, and Administration. This role is crucial in maximising and effectively deploying financial resources to support the school's objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making as part of the school's senior management team.
Manage financial administration procedures and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Oversee financial modelling and planning in alignment with the school's development plans.
Review and enhance financial policies and practices to optimise resource utilisation.
Manage the school's budget, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial forecasts.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure effective administration and operation of the school.
Lead the procurement and management of external contracts to ensure best value.
Identify new income generation opportunities and manage funding agreements.
Provide HR support including recruitment, maintaining personnel records, and overseeing staff development.
Oversee the maintenance and development of school premises and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role within a school environment is desirable.
Proven experience in budget setting, financial monitoring, and reporting.
Strong IT skills, proficient in using software applications like Word, Excel, and school-specific platforms like Arbor, Tucasi, Access Education, and EduPay (desirable).
Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Safeguarding, Data Protection, Cyber Security) is desirable.
School Business Management qualification or relevant financial/business administration qualification is desirable.
