Department Accounts Manager 

Perm role - Competitive Salary on offer 

Hybrid working 

Hours: Part Time or Full Time Hours are available (Flex full Time hours: 9am - 5pm or 9.30am - 5.30pm)

Location: Blandford

  • Departmental Management
  • Financial Management
  • Overseeing monthly prepayment adjustments journals to include balancing prepayment ledger; 
  • Posting to salary journals and central reconciliation for payee and pension; 
  • Undertaking salary year end procedures;
  • Inputting budgets to system;
  • Providing and maintaining accurate client and office account records; 
  • Applying sound working knowledge of SAR and HMRC requirements; 
  • Inputting transactions and account movements on DPS and updating legers using accounting
  • Accepting responsibility and taking ownership of operational issues, finding solutions and escalating problems where appropriate;  

Requirements 

  • A minimum of two years’ experience of working in a busy Legal Cashiering department.  (Essential) 
  • Existing experience of working to the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Solicitors Regulation Authority. 
  • Experience of daily banking, office and client transfers, cheque processing, petty cash, bank reconciliations and payroll 
  • Experience of working with legal accounts software packages 
  • Experience of managing people 
  • Good knowledge of the SRA regulations and be able to adhere to them (Essential)
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
