Part-Time Bookkeeper – Flexible Hours

A well-established business in the York/Selby area is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to focus on the Sales Ledger / Credit Control element 2 says a week.You will join their friendly team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts and ensuring smooth credit control processes.

Enjoy autonomy and flexibility with 16 hours per week (2 days) and competitive rate of pay.  If you have experience with Sage, Excel, and strong attention to detail, this role offers the perfect balance of responsibility and work-life flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and post sales invoices, credit notes, and receipts

• Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger

• Monitor and chase outstanding payments

• Resolve customer queries and discrepancies

• Issue monthly statements and assist with reporting

• Support ad hoc finance tasks

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in sales ledger or credit control

• Proficiency in Sage, Excel, and Word

• Strong numeracy and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work independently

• Car ownership and UK driving licence

Desirable

• AAT qualification (or studying towards)

• Knowledge of VAT and basic accounting principles
