Location: Westmead House, Westmead Cl, Braunton EX33 1NL

Rate Of Pay: £10.52

Shift Patterns: Full and part time vacancies. Day shifts - 8am-2.30pm and 2.30pm-9pm.

Information about the Role:

Working as a Care Team Leader at Westmead your duties will include the following:

· Supervising and inspiring a team of dedicated Support Workers

· Liaising with GP’s, District Nurses and other professionals

· Administering medication

· Conducting assessments

· Ensuring that care plans are kept up to date

· Respecting the dignity and preferences of the people we support as well playing your own part in establishing a home where everyone feels safe and confident to live their best life

· Being involved and deliver daily activities to the people we support

· Managing and help organise the duty rota

· Carrying out duties as requested by senior management

Information about the Service:

We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long term neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, dysphagia, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury. Our team is trained to carry out a range of nursing tasks including PEG care and works closely with other professionals to deliver condition specific training to ensure that every aspect of each individuals’ needs are consistently understood and met.

The full-time support we provide is flexible and designed to help build skills, inspire confidence and encourage people to live more independently.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Team Leader:

· NVQ 3 or above in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience

· Ideally 6 month or more experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant / Senior Support Worker / Team Leader or Deputy Manager in Mental Health.

· Passionate about making a difference in someone else’s life.

· Good communication skills.

· Able handle sometimes challenging situations.

· Fun, energetic and able to build relationships with many different people.
