Bookkeeper / Tax Specialist

My client is a growing, independent accountancy practice based in Maidenhead looking for additional support in offering their varied client base a high level of service in relation to their accounting and taxation affairs. They seek a bookkeeper / accountant / tax specialist to join the growing team. This is a permanent role available on a full-time or part-time basis.

The firm provides accounts and tax compliance and consultancy services for a client base of small to medium sized businesses and high net worth individuals. They provide bookkeeping and payroll services alongside bespoke accounts and tax advice.

The day-to-day responsibilities could include:

  • General administration duties
  • Bookkeeping duties
  • Accounts preparation
  • Payroll work
  • Compiling tax returns and accompanying trading or rental accounts
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Companies House compliance

They seek a self-motivated and organised candidate who has relevant experience in practice.

Experience of working with one or more of the following accountancy software packages required: FreeAgent/Xero/Quickbooks/Sage

Experience of working with payroll software an advantage

Microsoft office experience required, especially excel and word

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work independently while utilising the support provided by the wider team

The role is office based but the hours are flexible and would work around school times. There would be a need to work during the school holidays. The salary on offer is up to £35,000 on a full time basis - 35 hours per week.
