The Role
As a FP&A Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary; joining the Support business unit, within the Marine Sector, reporting to the Sector Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the role will lead a team of accountants and reporting analysts to ensure management information is collected and reported in an accurate, timely and meaningful way.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for providing senior management with the data and tools to support key decision making for the business; all the while acting as the main point of contact for business unit reporting issues and requirements for the Support Finance Director and their business Finance Manager:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring support to the Support FP&A team.
  • Oversee the Support monthly reporting processes, including accounts preparation for the various reporting entities, including overseas businesses, and business unit analysis.
  • Manage and oversee the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes for the business unit.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Head of FP&A and other key stakeholders where required.

This role is a full-time position, that is contracted at 36 hours a week and can be based at either our Plymouth or Bristol sites with hybrid working from home arrangements. The current expectation is to be at either or both of the sites, on a weekly to fortnightly basis.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the FP&A Manager:

  • Demonstratable FP&A experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communicator, ability to work with individuals at various levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent Excel modelling skills.
  • Motivational leader and ability to develop key talent in the team.
  • Ability and desire to take a hands-on approach, willing to get into the detail but also see the big picture.

Qualifications for the FP&A Manager:

  • You must hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
