JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with a well-established engineering company in Bradford who are looking for a stand-alone finance manager / bookkeeper on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make this position your own, heading up the finances for a small, family-run business. The client will consider reduced hours or full-time applicants for this role.

Reporting into the Operations Director, you will be the spearhead of the business in relation to all matters financial. This is a very hands-on role, working across the business including close working with the chairman, therefore an experienced pair of hands are required for this position. Flexibility is also required with this role, working beyond the finance department, and assisting in other areas of the business when required.

Duties include:

• Processing weekly payroll and monthly salaries, including Full Payment Submission, and Nest Pension reporting.

• Preparing balance sheets

• Processing invoices, providing weekly/monthly payment run information.

• Bank reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions, providing monthly management account overview.

• Processing purchase invoices, providing weekly/monthly payment run information.

• Dealing with HMRC for VAT, PAYE, returns.

• Credit control - monitor customer payment tracking both invoice and applications, monitor retentions.

• Managing financial risk, early warning, new customer assessment for credit control

• Supporting the Operations Manager with projects and tasks when required

• Providing administrative support to Project Managers if required.

It is imperative you have experience working in a stand-alone role, overseeing all areas of finance for a small business. Ideally, you will have strong knowledge of Sage Line 50. QBE candidates are preferred for this role, but AAT qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply.

Hours can be negotiable with the client open to reduced hours. Flexible hours also on offer (7-3,8-4 etc).
