Domestic Assistant

We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join us as Domestic Assistant at our Ashey Court Nursing Home in Morningside, Edinburgh. You will ensure the high standards of the company by keeping the home clean and safe, making efficient use of cleaning materials and equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• At least 6 months previous experience in a domestic or cleaning role

• Able to multi-task and prioritise workload

• Clear and concise communicator with excellent listening skills

• The ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude at all times

Main responsibilities

To follow housekeeping instructions as directed by Manager/Nurse in charge

To operate tools and equipment in a safe, correct manner, displaying warning signs as appropriate

To report any damage to equipment, furnishings or fabric as soon as possible to immediate superior

To use appropriate chemicals in correct strength as instructed in the manual and be economical in use

To keep furniture and carpets clean and free of odours

To maintain high standards of cleanliness to reflect image of the company

To dispose of waste materials as instructed

To wear and use protective clothing as directed and report any damage to suppliers

To comply with safe working practices and procedures
